In preparation for the showcase, my transmedia elements were mostly done. My attention was directed towards the interactive film as a beginner with Unity 3D. I finished setting up the cameras around the metro environment quickly since I had the shot list as a reference. Then, I started animating my character which was a learning process because I hadn't done complex character animations before.
After creating all the animations needed for the intro scene as well as a phone model, I ran into a lot of issues with
Unity
misreading the rig when it's animated. When I tried creating new avatars instead of copying from the Idle model,
the problem still persisted.
I exported a version that has all the audio and a rough animation block out for the showcase as a a result of not having enough time to fix the rig import issues and create polished animations. I also had some lighting and scaling issues, but exporting this version for the showcase did act as a rendering test that succeeded. I didn't have time to give to the creation and import of the secondary characters, so I placed placeholder characters from Mixamo temporarily.
